The story of the Dare family is a heartwarming tapestry woven from rich European heritage, individual passions, and a shared love that culminated in a remarkable entrepreneurial success. 

Peter and Marianna Dare, with their three beautiful children, embody a strong European legacy, with Marianna’s roots deeply embedded in the baking traditions of L’Aquila, Abruzzo, where her mother’s family owned and operated a beloved town bakery and pastry shop. This ingrained passion for baking, honed through generations, finds its counterpart in Peter’s lifelong expertise as a senior Construction and Fabrication manager, a career that fostered his natural affinity for metalwork and channeled into his highly praised hobby of crafting intricate metal sculptures.

It was this potent combination of Marianna’s baking heritage and Peter’s metalworking prowess, fueled by their mutual dedication to European culinary traditions, that sparked an innovative idea.

In 2019, Peter fabricated his first baking oven steel from the finest low carbon steel, gifting these exceptional pieces to friends and family. The quality and performance of these steels quickly spread by word-of-mouth, overwhelming Peter with demand.

Supported by his loving wife, Marianna, this organic growth transformed their shared passion into DareBuilt Baking Oven Steel™, swiftly establishing itself as Canada’s largest supplier of the Original Canadian-made Baking Oven Steel Brand™, a testament to heritage, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurial spirit.

Why Amazon ONLY?

Dear validated clients, we have chosen to sell only through Amazon as our business model. The reasons for this are founded on the following principles:

1. Amazon has the room to store our Inventory in a clean and dry environment reducing of Lease Premised costs and warehousing of inventory insurance cost

2. Canada Post is UNRELIABLE! As a small Ontario business Canada Post in cooperation with both Federal and provincial governments has done little to nothing to support Ontario Small Business. Since the major Work Stoppage of 2018 and onward Canada Post labour negotiations and threats of strike action and work to rule has greatly affected the corporation's ability to reliably service small business.

3. Canada Post Cost- The cost of using Canada Post has skyrocketed over the last 5 years! Once we factor in the cost to send one of our staff members in a truck to go and ship and drop off our parcels, wait in line for scanning or shipment label generation - the real cost to ship a parcel is much more that just the shipping cost that consumers see.

4. Customer Satisfaction- Amazon is the class leader in on-time delivery with delivery guarantee

5. Canada Wide Warehousing - we are able to inventory our product in multiple locations across Canada meaning that next day delivery is available for most of our products.

6. From coast to coast Canada is measured in Road Distance or 7,821 KM using only the Trans-Canada Highway! Amazon systems are designed better than Canada Post

7. Amazon Return Policy- Our clients have the option to return if the item is ordered incorrectly- Due to the extremely high quality of the products we produce we don't have large return issues. The biggest reason for returns is that people misjudge the size of the over or the weight of the steel

8. Reduced Staffing Cost- as UPS Picks up our product inventory once freshly packaged in Milton, Ontario and delivered directly to an Amazon warehouse we do not need to keep additional staff on standby to fill orders as they come in. This allows Marianna and I to be able to keep labour costs lower

9. Lastly, Mr. Dare works full time as a Senior Construction Project Manager and Construction Consultant. Amazon allows Mr. Dare to be free and work as the Baking Oven steel market is very small and cannot fully support the household. Remember this is his “labour of love” , a passion to produce and supply Canada with 100% Made in Canada products.
